H&H senior editor Meg Crossley turned into this unfinished basement laundry room to a laundry oasis. Improper venting supposed the washer and dryer had to be transferred to the opposite wall, where they're currently concealed by latching doors. Meg also included a convenient sink using a kitchen-worthy faucet, an upper shelf and lower cabinets for extra storage. A contractor cut door fronts from MDF, and then Meg added Shaker trim for a custom look. To give the cellar an airy atmosphere, the space was painted white. Sico's Light Sugar (4150-11), an obsolete white, makes the ceilings look higher without feeling cold or sterile. Craft Area-Plan for multiuse corners to optimize functionality in a small basement.
This laundry room doubles as a storage space, craft area and wrapping centre. Cabinetry constructed along the wall opposite the appliances retains lightbulbs, batteries, additional garbage bags and other household supplies. A pegboard outfitted with dangling containers and small sticks keeps craft and wrapping materials arranged while an adjoining corkboard displays inspirational photographs for craft and reno projects. Open shelves have been placed high on the walls to add storage space without making the little room feel closed in; bins and baskets are used here to keep small items corralled.

Putting this shower beside the plumbing shaft left room for a freestanding sink at the little bathroom. New plumbing was inserted from the laundry room, along with the HVAC ducts were increased into the ceiling joists to permit for as much headroom as possible.

Consider seat pinning as a cheaper option to digging a basement. The laundry room of the renovated basement was created to be bright and clean with lots of storage. Simple drawers and cabinets maintain everything from linens to sports gear arranged and out of sight. A farmhouse sink and industrial design sink and artwork lined along the countertop create the decoration more worthy of a main-floor room than a basement for chores. Accessories like matching canisters and a dark tray finish the look off.

A faux-brick wall, fireplace mantel, slipcovered sofa and classic finds unite in this rustic area. Meg cleverly hidden wiring and ductwork into one long, 40-square-foot cupboard behind the doors flanking the new fireplace.

This sewing, craft and gift-wrap channel was designed to a nook of a basement laundry area. The plans included built-in cabinets that provide a great deal of storage to organize supplies and seasonal items. Straightforward Ikea boxes turn the spacious shelves into a clean display and white paint keeps it clean and glowing. The durable slate flooring is practical and elevates the decor, more ideas.
